Maria Ressa’s supporters cannot keep using #DefendPressFreedom to defend a law-breaker

“Hold the line”. I find this so OA. Maria Ressa is simply not very smart. She can’t stay out of trouble. She should learn from the best. Perhaps even a “minor-minor” blogger can teach her how to kick some ass without getting sued or arrested.

I don’t even know why Maria Ressa is acting so “surprised” she got arrested when the fact that she was included in the libel lawsuit was all over the news. She’s either not very smart or she thinks she can fool everyone. Either way, it doesn’t look good. This #DefendPressFreedom is misguided.

Perhaps some so-called journalists wish they would get arrested too because they are bored…it’s baffling why they are still enjoying their freedom to criticise the very person they accuse of abusing his power. Aren’t they accusing members of the judiciary of being corrupt as well?

Only a judge can decide Maria Ressa’s fate now, but it seems Maria Ressa’s supporters know better than a Philippine judge.

The “movement” to #DefendPressFreedom is all about Maria Ressa and not much else

If #DefendPressFreedom was the burning national issue Maria Ressa makes it out to be, why aren’t politicians making it a cornerstone of their campaign? The fact is, it isn’t relevant because it is a non-issue. Maria Ressa was arrested for charges related to her conduct as leader of a news media organisation. Her case has nothing to do with press freedom. For that matter, press freedom was never “under attack” to begin with.

Last we heard it is only Maria Ressa supposedly being “harassed”, supposedly. We don’t hear any other media personality throwing a tantrum even remotely similar to Ressa’s rants. There is no #DefendPressFreedom. Only defend Maria Ressa. Maria Ressa is calling on Filipinos to #DefendPressFreedom because SHE was arrested for LIBEL. Let that sink in for a moment then realise just how ridiculous the notion is.

Who is Ressa anyway? Why screech #DefendPressFreedom over a CEO who failed her shareholders, her employees, and her readers for being a mediocre executive and a dishonest “journalist”?

The only person who can decide Maria Ressa’s LEGAL case is a judge. Judges aren’t moved by activist drivel slogans like #DefendPressFreedom. Only morons are.

Arrest of Rappler CEO Maria Ressa is NOT an “attack on press freedom”. Not at all!

Members of the community of cluckity Netizens that orbit the cult of personality of Maria Ressa, CEO of “social news network” Rappler are up in arms. As I write this, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are reportedly serving a warrant of arrest and taking Ressa to custody for offenses related to libel. In response, Ressa’s fans are crying bloody “attack on press freedom”.

But, really, all this has NOTHING to do with “press freedom”. The charges against Maria Ressa have to do with the DISHONEST “journalism” she and her henchwomen are evidently free to propagate. Until now, that is.

One Netizen desperately asks, “Do you think this still has nothing to do with suppressing press freedom, Sir? Help me understand your stance re this.”

To that I say, you need to step further back because the premise that frames your question is flawed. Step back and ask whether “press freedom” is “under attack” in the Philippines to begin with.

The truth is, press freedom was NEVER under threat to begin with. There is no evidence of this dishonest claim propagated by Maria Ressa.

The core issue here is around the charges against Ressa submitted within the framework of the law. Screeching “press freedom” does nothing to mitigate Ressa’s trouble with the law. If Ressa’s supporters want to be smart, they should respond with legal arguments rather than the obsolete street theatrics and crybaby stunts they are likely already planning to mount.

Yellowtard #OtsoDiretso politicians cannot be trusted as long as they are silent about @PinoyAkoBlog’s LYING ways

No exception. All politicians claim to be and promise to be honest and truthful during election campaigns. This, of course, changes when they win, but what is important is the perception of impeccable integrity they bring across in that all-important campaign leading to the elections.

In that sense, the Yellowtard camp is in trouble. Their key blogger and cornerstone of their party messaging, Jover Laurio a.k.a. Pinoy Ako Blog, is about to be slapped with a perjury charge.

Imagine finding yourself associated with a liar in the midst of a crucial election campaign — and one whose wedding you were photographed in attendance of! Yikes!

An entire Opposition bloc captured in living colour attending the wedding of a liar!

Suffice to say, campaign contributors won’t be too happy seeing their investment being put at risk by a problem that is easily solved. Indeed, the solution is so obvious that even the Bible offers it up in these timeless words…

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for. thee that one of thy members should perish, and. not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

(Matthew 5:29)

It’s simple, really. The Opposition’s obvious action to ditch the Yellowtards is a long-overdue call to action. Now it is imperative that they do, lest they be associated with a liar like Jover Laurio.

Jover Laurio’s unscrupulous ways go a long way back to a time when she wielded information she obtained illegally like a weapon!

It’s time to do the right thing and possibly increase your chance of winning an election you all had been told time and again you really need to win. The right option is a win-win proposition. Ditch a liar, improve your election winning chances. The alternative, continue to coddle a liar, is a one-way road to Loserville.

Franco Mabanta to @PinoyAkoBlog: “I WANT YOU BEHIND BARS” for lying under oath!

Perjury. This is the legal “nuke” PR personality Franco Mabanta was “saving” for last and will now be going after Yellowtard blogger Jover Laurio with according to his recent Facebook post

Awesome, right?

It is quite fitting that it is the charge of lying that might crush Laurio this time. Because that charge is, in fact, true. Jover Laurio is a liar and a dishonest person. She lies as a matter of habit and built an entire online cult of personality on the back of lies. If the charges are successfully prosecuted and Laurio convicted, she faces “a combined prison term of up to seven years” according to Mabanta.

Good luck to all parties in this next battle.

According to @TIME Magazine, Rappler CEO Maria Ressa is being harassed for being a Tax Evader!

Read this idiotic TIME Magazine article. It presumes to “report” on Fake News Crybaby and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa claiming that “the looming threat of tax evasion charges against prominent Philippine journalist Maria Ressa has prompted an outpouring of support” mainly coming from (who else?) “journalists around the world”.

But of course. “Journalists” are the 21st Century’s biggest crybabies because they’ve in recent times had their candy — domination of the planet’s information dissemination infrastructure — taken from them unceremoniously. They go about their monumental tantrum by putting up their own personal Satan — “fake news”.

Rather than redeem themselves and compete to regain a decent share of their lost pie, they instead ratchet up the dishonesty in their discredited craft. This recent article where they elevate Ressa to industry martyr is the latest example of the abomination their industry had become. Nowhere in this “report” are actual facts about Ressa’s tax evasion charges presented. That’s not just being biased, that’s just being plain dishonest.

Is Carlos Celdran a fugitive?

Last we heard Yellowtard “activist” Carlos Celdran has left the Philippines. Or shall we say, fled? In a recent tweet, he confirmed he won’t be back for “a long long while”…

Perhaps this “long long while” means about 13 months, right Mr Celdran?

Do recall

Celdran faces imprisonment for 2 months and 21 days at minimum, and 1 year, 1 month, and 11 days as maximum.

This is the consequence Celdran faces for his Damaso stunt in 2010.

Celdran later formally apologised in an open letter to Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales for his actions. In the letter, Celdran sought forgiveness and called for all to learn to set aside “differences and work towards a better future together.”

Is Celdran fleeing his accountability to the Filipino people for offenses he has not served time for yet? Why was he even allowed to leave the country? The mystery persists.

One thing’s for sure, the prison experience doesn’t look quite like the way Celdran portrayed it back in the day — when he appeared a lot cockier about the pickle he finds himself in.

The COMELEC is NO LONGER a credible and TRUSTED governor of Philippine elections!

The Philippines’ Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has been caught out many times turning a blind eye to electoral fraud, tolerating crooked technology suppliers, and bending its own rules to favour specific candidates and/or their parties.

Firstly, the COMELEC has a long track record of presiding over fraudulent elections. This is evident in the many incidents that mark electoral history in the Philippines over the last several decades with big appalling blatant cheating reported not just in 2016 but also in 2004 and 2010.

Second, somebody in the COMELEC seems to be protecting SMARTMATIC, what is widely regarded as a crooked technology supplier.

The problem is, since members of the Supreme Court are considered luddites or among those who fear technology, they are slow to act on any petition that challenges the legitimacy of the election results. They did order the Comelec to compel Smartmatic TIM to make public the source codes used to run and operate the equipment. They simply refused and that was that.

Even a Senate investigation last year of how Smartmatic TIM conducted the 2010 elections, failed to provide clear answers as the company evaded questions on how the PCOS machines work. It is obvious they could get away with it because the Senators are hopelessly inept at making sense of the technical jargon.

Allegations of election fraud in 2010 fell on deaf ears. They were immediately dismissed as sour grapping even when more than one whistleblower came to speak out.

Third and last, when push comes to shove, the COMELEC will excuse its preferred candidates when they are in breach of its own guidelines as what happened in 2016 when it allowed vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo to be declared winner of those elections despite her party failing to comply with COMELEC requirements surrounding submission deadlines of candidates’ Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs).

Roxas and the LP had, last Wednesday, the 8th of June, reportedly requested an extension of the deadline citing “voluminous number of receipts that have to be scanned and attached” as their excuse.

Section 2 of Rule 10 issued by the COMELEC applicable for these 2016 elections states that there is absolutely no provision to allow an extension of the 8th of June deadline for filing the SOCE for any reason whatsoever…

Leni Robredo is, by all intents and purposes, disqualified from taking her post as vice president. Thanks to a cooperative COMELEC, however, she now occupies the post and is regarded by her supporters as the Philippines’ “vice president”.

Really, Filipinos need to re-evaluate the role the COMELEC plays in dishonest elections. For their sake and the sake of their fragile “democracy”.

Kris Aquino “sick” and “victim” stunts no longer work as recordings of possible death threat vs Nicko Falcis go viral! #PABoost

The audio recording of Kris Aquino’s threat to Nicko Falcis proves she has become delusional to think the Filipino people will be behind her once she uses the “sick” and “victim” card. It also proved the Aquinos think the Philippines is their fiefdom. How many people have they had killed?!

It seems the audio recording of Aquino threatening to announce to the public and have Nicko Falcis killed is real because she did announce she has lupus and is even giving everyone a minutiae update of her medical “checkup”. Unfortunately, she can’t have Nicko killed now.

In the audio recording, we can hear someone, possibly one of Kris’s servants, gasping as she made threats to Falcis. It seems the people around her were also shocked at the level she went to. She sounded really desperate and was using her last ammo to try and stop her enemy.

Shocking recording of what sounds like Kris Aquino issuing death threats to Nicko Falcis emerges! #PABoost

If this video containing a recording of what sounds like Queen of All Philippine Media Kris Aquino not just berating a certain “Nicko” but also threatening to have her family kill him, then a whole lot of people are in real trouble…

If that is indeed the Crazy Rich One in that recording, she is making it sound like her family — the Aquino-Cojuangco feudal clan — actually consists of the sorts of people who are capable of summarily murdering their enemies. Extrajudicially!

If so, people on the payroll of the Queen such as purported boy toy Gideon Pena and Yellowtard blogger Jover Laurio should really be worried lest they cross Aquino — with potentially fatal consequences.

The wording of the death threats in the video are consistent with statements made by Falcis’s brother Jesus who, in an earlier statement, alleged that Aquino made such threats using the very same words. These allegations were neither confirmed nor denied by Aquino.
