Being under the influence of alcohol NOT an excuse to verbally abuse police officers!

The latest circus being politicised by the Opposition is that incident in Manila’s chi chi Dasmarinas Village involving a man verbally abusing a police officer who was responding to a call to investigate a social distancing violation.

A baffling tweet from Commission on Elections (COMELEC) commisioner Rowena Guanzon, however, exhibited yet another flawed argument that was backward-engineered from the Opposition’s agenda to demonise the Philippine Police.

The policeman said that Parra was intoxicated . Is that a crime ? Note that he is a Spaniard and in Spain and France , as they say, " only frogs drink water." #BawalAngShunga @ANCALERTS @pnppio

But using influence of alcohol to excuse a civilian engaging in verbal abuse and disrespect of a Filipino police officer is not a good position to take and not good professional form specially for a Philippine government official. Guanzon should know better than to publicly undermine law enforcement officers and should, instead, air her opinions about her fellow civil servants up the proper channels.
