The latest circus being politicised by the Opposition is that incident in Manila’s chi chi Dasmarinas Village involving a man verbally abusing a police officer who was responding to a call to investigate a social distancing violation.
A baffling tweet from Commission on Elections (COMELEC) commisioner Rowena Guanzon, however, exhibited yet another flawed argument that was backward-engineered from the Opposition’s agenda to demonise the Philippine Police.

But using influence of alcohol to excuse a civilian engaging in verbal abuse and disrespect of a Filipino police officer is not a good position to take and not good professional form specially for a Philippine government official. Guanzon should know better than to publicly undermine law enforcement officers and should, instead, air her opinions about her fellow civil servants up the proper channels.
