As a leader of the Philippines’ War on Drugs, Leni Robredo needs to listen and be open to ideas

Throughout former President Noynoy Aquino’s term that I was criticising him, I would have been happy to be proven wrong because his success meant the country’s success but, unfortunately, I was right about him and his incompetence. I’m praying that I will be proven wrong about about “vice president” Leni Robredo leading the Drug War this time. Unfortunately her arrogance is starting to look problematic.

For example, some of Robredo’s supporters are now saying she is a genius for accepting Duterte’s offer because now she has access to funds and resources to use. So who is being scheming now? Duterte proved he was being genuine with the offer and it ncludes giving her access to those resources.

I’m trying to keep an open mind, but Robredo’s statement that she will “push for zero killings in the government’s drug war” is a sign that she doesn’t know what she is dealing with. She needs to be informed it’s a drug war. Members of drug syndicates do not care about people who get in their way. They will kill or be killed.

Indeed, it is interesting to observe that most of Leni’s supporters already assume she is going to fail in her new role as co-chair of the Anti Illegal Drugs Committee. Well, it’s not because of any conspiracy against her by Duterte. It’s because she acts and talks like she’s better than everyone. She behaves like a diva.

Prove us wrong, Leni. I wish you all the luck because your success means the success of Filipinos. It’s time for you to shed your yellow colour, change your combative stance, and be more open and cooperative. You don’t have a monopoly on great ideas. You also need to listen and be more inclusive.
