Members of the Yellow Opposition are blaming Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte for a law former President Noynoy Aquino signed during his term. They are mixing up timelines and the order of events. Noynoy’s law allowing criminals like former Mayor Antonio Sanchez early release is self-serving. Noynoy was likely thinking of his own jail term and how to get out sooner.

Where did the yellows get the information that the former mayor and convicted murderer Sanchez is going to be released earlier? It seems to be another one of those shrill boy-who-cried wolf circuses again.
Showbiz personality Bianca Gonzalez was one of the more influential people who first spread word that the Duterte government was supporting Sanchez’s release citing a statement issued by the Department of Justice in a petition she launched in Change.org…
On August 21, 2019, The Department of Justice announced Sanchez will likely walk free after just over 20 years in jail.
The hysteria seems to have been started by a report published by ABS-CBN News under the irresponsibly-worded headline “Ex-Calauan mayor Sanchez, convicted for 1993 rape and murder, set for release”.
But whereas the headline made it sound like his release was certain, the actual statement made by jail officials merely expressed the probability of his release.
“Maaaring makakasama siya (Sanchez) sa more or less 11,000 na mga person deprived of liberty (PDL) na makakalabas in the next 2 months,” [Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Nicanor Faeldon] told radio DZMM in an interview.
(He may be released along with more or less 11,000 person deprived of liberty within the next two months.)
This of course didn’t stop social media “experts” like Noemi Dado from linking what is essentially a lie to the government of Philippine President Rodrigo and then fanning the flames of social media hysteria.
Convicts will always try to apply for early release. Even one of the killers of Sharon Tate, a cult member of Charles Manson recently applied for parole, but was denied. I don’t understand why the yellows think it was Duterte’s idea to release Sanchez. They keep making stuff up.
In life, things are not always what they seem.
