Recall back in January 2019, Senator Leila De Lima had reportedly declined to participate in due process surrounding her case.
Senator Leila de Lima has again refused to enter a plea in connection with a drug-related case filed against her at a Muntinlupa court.
As a result, it was the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205 that entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf at the arraignment held Friday morning.
This means her appeal to the US government for support as a “victim” of “persecution” does not hold water. De Lima has not demonstrated that she had exhausted all legal means to respond to the charges against her. In fact she had, instead, shown absolute contempt for the Philippines’ legal system!
Filipino lawyers should take note. If they plan to support De Lima’s “cause”, they should think again. This is a lost cause and not worth your licensed to practice law in the Philippines.
